The Schnitzlbaumer brewery was founded in 1575 as "Oberer Bräu". Since 1889 the brewery has been managed by the Schnitzlbaumer family and since 2014 it has been handed over to the Frauendörfer family. The private brewery Schnitzlbaumer is the oldest brewery in the beer town of Traunstein (Upper Bavaria).
