Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes (BFM) is a small brewery in Saugier, Switzerland, whose products, including cask beers, are internationally recognized.
Founded in 1997 by qualified oenologist Jerome Rebetes, the brewery is known for producing beers that go beyond the traditional beer style rules and use unorthodox ingredients. The brewery takes its name from the neighborhood in which it is located, one of three in the canton of Jura.
Style: Strong sour ale Filtration: non-filter Color: dark Volume: 0.75 Fortress: 11.0% Pack quantity: 12
A strong sour ale of mixed fermentation, matured for a year in old oak barrels. The oak aging and the action of wild yeasts give this beer a surprisingly wide range of flavors. Its outstanding complexity, balance, roundness and lingering aftertaste are the fruit of careful blending of selected barrels. On the palate, the blend resembles fruity red wines with a pronounced balsamic acidity. The best way to enjoy this ale is to serve it in an elegant wine glass at 16°C paired with duck breast or foie gras, for example.
